Whenever I make this homemade salsa my whole family devours it.

Even at parties this is the first to go…people keep coming back for more and before you know it, it’s gone . It’s super fresh and you can eat it in so many different ways. I love it just as a regular salsa, but I also love it on steaks, with chicken breast or in a wrap to use as my sauce. It’s great in chili and in or on omelets. (so ditch the ketchup) There’s a lot of ways to enjoy it, but best of all it’s ridiculously low in calories and the sauces and dips are what can get ya in trouble and hinder your progress if you are trying to lose weight.

I’ve mentioned in a previous post about the nutrition in tomatoes and that in 1 full tomato it’s only 22 calories. When you still add the other ingredients it’s still super low. What you eat it WITH IT is the important thing to make sure you don’t go overboard and rack up those calories and carbs etc.

Now, the reason I love to make my own salsa is that not only do I love the taste and it’s low in calories but I know what’s going into it. AND did you know…that a lot of store bought salsas can contain added sugar? Be sure to read the labels when you go to buy salsa or you can make this and it takes under 10 minutes to make.

So here’s my recipe for homemade salsa.

If you can make it a little bit ahead of time then the flavors will get even better. Keep it chilled for an hour if you can and then enjoy it. It’s awesome. So enjoy!
