The Chat About Drinking Water To Lose Weight

Drinking water to lose weight is the very first thing I always talk about to anyone who wants to lose weight.

Ladies out there…how many of you ACTUALLY take in enough water per day?

How many of you don’t have a clue how much you should be drinking a day?

What Drinking Water Does

Water raises your metabolism, helps with bloating (even though I know it seems counter-intuitive), clears your skin, helps with elasticity and can even help with sagging skin. It also helps with headaches and concentration and constipation.


What it ALSO does is saves your butt from gaining weight.

By not drinking those high-calorie sodas, juices and sugary, fattening coffees.

And by drinking water, you are not only helping with hydration, but you’re also not mistaking thirst for hunger…..thus saving your butt once again from gaining weight.

Side Effects From Not Drinking Enough Water

So what are the side effects from NOT drinking enough water?

  • Headaches
  • Dehydration
  • Lack of Energy
  • Brain Fog / Foggy Thinking
  • Lack of Cleansing /Not able to get the toxins out
  • Get Cold and Flu really easily

So, Here’s how much water you should drink per day to help you lose weight.

  • Take the amount of what you weigh and divide that in half.
  • That’s the amount of oz you should drink.
  • For example. If you are 150 lbs…by dividing that in half you get 75.
  • 75 is the amount in oz that you should drink per day.
  • 75 oz is a full jug of this…(walmart water bottle)
  • 4 of these (isagenix shaker bottle)
  • 9 x 8 oz glasses per day.

 

Ways to Enjoy Water

I love water and rarely drink anything but water. And for some of you out there, who find that water is boring…here are some different ways to enjoy it.

Tea bags

Pop them into your water bottle. I like to use fun flavors and have them when I feel like something fruity or fun. Some options I enjoy are mojito, bellini tea and cosmo.

Fruit Infused Water

You can also try fruit infused water.  Try chopping up strawberries and adding basil or cucumber and lemon with mint. Lemon has been shown to help digestion, (Show the bottle)

Sparkling Natural Water

…or as the italians say “gas or no gas”. I love Perrier lime flavored water. It gives a little bit of carbonation and is a WAY better alternative to soda.

What’s awesome about the Sparkling water is it can make you feel more full and longer than regular water.

It also helps with constipation…and a little heads up on that ladies…if you aren’t going each and every day…you need to be. And if you aren’t losing weight, you won’t be if you aren’t eliminating.

Types of Bottles to Use  

What you can do if you are using a big bottle is to line your bottle so that you can gauge throughout the day at which line you should be at to space it apart.

If you’re home, you can refill empty bottles and keep them in your fridge for easy access which makes it super convenient. That way you can just grab and go.

Extra Tips:

You know how we always want kids to eat their dinner and not fill up on drinks? Well, do the exact opposite lol. Drink a glass of water before you begin you meal which helps getting you a little full before you eat.

Now I know some might be saying..yeah but, then I’ll have to pee all day. You’ll feel like that at first but it gets better.   The best part of upping your water and utilizing it in your weight loss strategy, is that it’s inexpensive, it’s no calories, or little calories if you’re adding infused water (like a stick of gum worth) and you’ll feel better, and look better with your skin AND your body for it.
